My interest and experience in teaching animals began as a child, when I helped my father with the training and showing of our family's Doberman Pinschers in AKC Oobedience and Confirmation competitions. Currently, I am the owner of I C PawsAbilities® in San Clemente, California, where I work with animals that have behavior issues by educating their owners in group classes and private sessions. I teach as well as mentor nationwide, promoting Positive Reinforcement Training using Science based Force Free techniques and am a strong advocate for species-appropriate nutrition for our companion animals, helping them to become the best they can be.

In 2003 I graduated from the two year Certification Tellington TTouch Training. I have advanced to a Level 3 Practitioner, teaching one, two or three day workshops.

I have been published in several magazines, including Animal Wellness and Dog World. Certified by the top training institutions in the United States, I am often invited to participate in radio interviews and public speaking engagements.

In the medical world I have worked as a Veterinary Technician as well as a Paramedic. I hold The American Heart Assoc. Regional Faculty position while teaching Advanced Cardiac Life Support at the University of California Irvine in Orange County, California.

Stefanie Birch

I have been training dogs professionally for 8 years. Before I began working with dogs professionally, I trained and worked with horses for 15 years. I have lived with dogs my whole life. I have experience working with people and dogs of all breeds, sizes, and ages in both group classes as well as private training. I am a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and I will be testing for my CPDT certification from the Certification Council of Pet Dog Trainers this year in August. I use positive reinforcement methods, not dominance theory methods. I do not believe in training through intimidation, fear, or pain. Instead I strive to help owners get the behaviors they want from their dogs through understanding, trust, and strong leadership. I love my job and I volunteer my time and skills to help rescued dogs whenever and however I can. Dogs are truly mans (and women's) best friend. I enjoy making the relationship between dogs and their families the best it can be.
