While many animal hospitals only offer a handful of surgical services in-house, our skilled veterinary team is equipped to perform most minor and major surgeries. From routine soft-tissue surgeries to more complex emergency procedures, our team does it all. We even work with a Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon who visits our facility regularly to perform complex veterinary orthopedic procedures.
Before your pet’s procedure, we will carefully examine them to ensure they are healthy enough for anesthesia. We also perform pre-anesthetic blood tests to check for problems we may not be able to detect during a physical exam. When it’s time for surgery, we will give your pet a pre-anesthetic injection to help them relax and start them on IV fluids to keep them hydrated.
During surgery, we will closely monitor your pet’s vital signs through blood pressure monitoring, cardiac monitoring, respiratory monitoring, and pulse oximetry. And, of course, the veterinarian and surgical technician will keep an eye on your furry friend throughout the procedure.
Immediately after surgery, your pet will receive an injection to minimize pain. In some cases, we may also dispense an at-home pain management medication. When it is time for your pet to head home, we’ll provide detailed instructions so you can help your pet recover. If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us right away.
